About NUNNU

Nunnu is the very first of her kind!
Becuse of her size, and the challenges that presents, Miroslava had to find a new way of sculpting her body and face. Usually Miroslava will exclusively use paper clay to make her master doll sculptures. Paper clay is soft, reusable and easy to work with. In this case Nunnu’s head was just so very, very tiny, so the paper clay would crumble as Miroslava worked on her face and head shape. She was so petite and fragile.
So instead Miroslava had to figure out another way to work. She took out a resin-cast of one of her own doll-heads that she had made before (in a tiny format). Using this already cast resin-head as a base (now in strong, resin material) she sculpted new features and an entirely new face through sanding and drilling directly into the resin. And that ended up working! So here she is now, finally done! Nunnu :) We hope you love her!

MIROSLAVA’S SCULPTING PROCESS:

To the right you can see Nunnu in the process of her being made. We put this up to show those who are curious! Sometimes it can be fun to see the process.

This is how Nunnu looked when Miroslava had just finished sculpting her main features. She was originally sculpted in paper clay, but Miroslava refined her features on a resin-cast. This is the sculpt you see in the images.
This sculpt was then used to make a mold of the doll which were used for the first samples (seen in one of the images).
