How do I buy a meadowdoll’s doll?

Participating in Preorders.
When people buy Meadowdoll’s dolls it is usually done through participating in preorders. A preorder is a time period in which a specific doll is available for purchase. When a preorder for a specific Meadowdoll’s doll is active, the preorder page will contain a listing for that specific doll. You can navigate to the preorder page during that time and place your order for the doll you want to buy.

Preorders usually last 2-3 weeks
That means you have 3 weeks on you to decide and order the doll. Some dolls are up for preorder several times (in different colors) while others are only available once. When the preorder closes the doll becomes unavailable for purchase on this website.

How to know which preorders are coming up.
To buy a Meadowdoll’s doll you wait for a preorder to take place of a coming doll. To find out when a new preorder is coming up you can take a look at the Meadowdolls Fan Club page where such information is regularly posted and also check from time to time at the pre-order page on this site. You can also sign up for newsletter about preorder and other things that happen, also read under the NEWS page to stay up to date.

The second-hand market.
Meadowdoll’s only sells her dolls through preorders here on this website. However, you can sometimes find previously released Meadowdoll’s dolls on the second-hand market, such as on the Meadowdolls Fan Club.

A detailed description of how Preorders work.
If you want to see an in-depth time-line and more detailed description of how preorders work you can click here. That page describes Meadowdolls preorders and why they are set up the way they are, if you want to know more. :)

after i’ve ordered my doll, how long does it take for me to get it?

After the Preorder closes, Meadow (the creator of the dolls) places an order to make all the dolls that have been bought. The dolls are made in high-quality resin and are individually cast. sanded, strung, painted, and lastly, carefully packed. This process is done very carefully and this meticulous work takes time. The dolls are usually finished in 9-12 months. (A bigger order takes longer time to paint.)

The process can be a little faster, but sometimes complications can add a month or two to the production time.

If you buy a custom faceup for your doll it takes a little extra time to get your doll, as the artist has to paint it per your wishes first.
DELIVERY TIME
We have redesigned our shipping system and payment on layaway. The dolls that are ordered outside the EU will be shipped directly to you from the factory.
We don’t know when the factory is finished, and the dolls must be fully paid for before shipping. If you buy a doll for example layaway, if there are 2 installments then the second and last will come in about 4 months after the preorder is closed. The doll is not ready then, but those who have ordered without faceup outside the EU will be sent directly from the factory as soon they are finished. Dolls with faceup take longer of course and are sent out in batches from the factory when they are ready. This is for People outside the EU.
For those who live in the EU, it will take a little longer, but no longer than before. These dolls go to Meadow first, and so do all dolls with or without faceup in the EU, and she sends them out at the same time.
Keep in mind that Meadow gets all dolls that go inside the EU after all outside EU has got their doll.
So those who live outside the EU will get the dolls a little faster because they go straight from the factory located in Hong Kong, and those who live in the EU take Meadow to her selves, (living in EU country) and pay customs and VAT for the customer, but then it also takes a little longer.
The dolls must be shipped from the factory to her, then she sends them out.

How to get a meadowdoll’s doll with a custom faceup?

What is a faceup?
Faceups refer to the coloring of dolls’ faces and bodies. These can be custom-made by artists if you like, or can also be factory-painted. A factory-painted faceup simply means that it was painted by the casting-company Meadow works with (for casting the dolls). Meadow chooses how each factory faceup will look for each doll.

Choosing a faceup for your doll.
When you preorder a Meadowdolls’ doll you can choose the Factory Faceup (which is the standard faceup) or sometimes you can buy an artist’s one-of-a-kind faceup (such as one by Charlene Smith that you can read more about here for example). These artist faceups are personalized and custom-made for your doll. You can choose this option when ordering your doll. Keep in mind that this adds a little more time for you to receive your doll, as the artist has to paint it for you. Artist faceups also cost extra.

You can also find Faceup-artist all over the world just by googling. You can personally contact one you like and send them your doll for a custom faceup when you have received your doll.
